Ctrl M opens bottom "Mixer" panel, where master track FX are set.
Note: Having Mixer open (for reasons unknown) hides automation label from individual tracks in the main view, so one generally wants it closed.
Shift up and down changes scale of wav so one can see small waveforms
Shift Cmd up and down expands/contracts all tracks
Brackets move between sections. Opt-left and Opt-right move between wider expanses of song.
w moves to start, fn-right arrow moves to end
"Latch mode" and touch mode allows one to draw automation as song plays (automation modes) (or right click and track automation options)
Cmd-click and drag to draw to volume automation
Spacebar to play or pause the track
T to choose a tool from the toolbar
S (when track selected) for split
Drag left label when Mixer is closed to open Envelope trim
Jbay really likes touch-based modifying of track, adjusting volume while listening
Cmd-T to create new track. If group is selected when pushed, the new track lives in the group
Drag route from one track to another to create a route (a cable from one to other)
"Span" plugin can show frequencies over the track (shown in master of FFF)
Multi-track operation
Click a track, "Cmd-A" to select all. Then can turn volume up or down, or click "Mute" and have it apply to call
"t" and "shfit-t" when a track has been selected can swap through takes when you have multiple takes. "Lock take" can be used after right-clicking so that you don't accidentally click a different take and have to re-listen to the lot of em
To record with lead in: Double tap click record button to choose "Time selection auto punch" which will only record during the portion of the track that had been selected in the time ruler (top bar of time in song).
OR just use the scaler to drag between the two recordings
Select an area, Shfit-R to define a "Region." 2finger tap region to name it.
Bracket keys will jump regions, or will stop if one creates a vertical time marker
Change dimensions of tracks
Cmd-Up or Down: Change the height of all the tracks
Option-Left or Right: Change the scale of the tracks to be more compact or diffuse
Stretch markers: Lining up performance to measure: Stretch markers. Shift-W when cursor is on a track, then drag back/forth. Or "Stretch markers" => "Add stretch markers" in the menu.
Drag from "Route" button up to FX track
"Effect bus" describes a set of effects that apply to a track.
When you set up parallel effects, you don't want any dry signal. Wet should be 100% (can double tap to return it to its default)
"FX Plate" a type of reverb to help flesh out the low end of the vocal
"Correction" tab allows automatic based on scale
Dark lines are the ones that ReaTune thinks aren't in the key
Cut out vox under 100mhz, bass guitar & drum should take that spectrum
