Today I needed to infill paint an image that had transparent regions:

That image, to be exact. I Googled for tools that would let me inpaint an image. These were Google's top three results.

Infill paint tools tried

I tried each of the top three tools, asking them to paint in the transparent parts of my boot. Here's how that went.

linkPixlr.

Required creating an account. Allowed me to select region and give prompt. 3x attempts to insist with increasing emphasis that the transparent pixels should be removed. It was unwilling to fill more than a fraction of the transparent areas, though

linkPincel.

Did not require login ✨. Allowed me to immediately upload and start inpainting. The area I painted would be redrawn (in weird ways), but the transparent regions of the boot persisted throughout. Felt least fully developed of the three tools.

linkGetimg.ai

Most annoying signup process: Google-only, and completely refuses to run in Brave, requiring opening Chrome. However, after jumping through their hoops, they provided not one but four quality options that inpainted the transparent areas. Chose this:

linkLunaPic.com

This was recommended during my first Google search for online inpainting tools. It does allow inpainting with minimal account fuss, but its inpainting is yet to be AI-driven:
